PostSubject: Pitt, depth coverage(damn angel)   Thu Jul 24, 2008 3:09 pm

Pit
First Appearance: Kid Icarus (NES)

Entrance: Light shines onto the stage and Pit descends from the heavens and onto the stage.

Victory Screen Pose: Pit spins his weapons.

Alternate Costume Colors (not all inclusive): Red w/ white wings, black w/ black wings, blue w/ blue wings.

Attack Descriptions:

Attack +Attack + Attack: Pit performs a three hit slash combo.

Tilt Up + Attack: Pit stands uses his weapon as a means of leverage and then kicks both his feet up into the air.

Aerial Up + A: Pit twirls his weapon high above head. It hits the opponent multiple times.

Aerial Down + Attack: Pit performs a downward slash. The animation/motion is similar to Marth's aerial down + attack.

Forward + Smash Attack: Pit hits twice with his smash attack. First with one end of his weapon and then with the other. The hits are consecutive.

Up + Special: Pit gains temporarily flight ability. This is probably one of the best recovery abilities in the history of smash. There is a blue glitter around his body while its in effect. Can be cancelled anytime.

Forward + Special: Pit moves forward about 3-5 character spaces and twirls his weapon between his fingers. This hit's the opponent multiple times and can even reflect projectiles back at opponents! You can hold the button to keep the weapon spinning for an extended period of time too. A very cool and useful move. If you perform this in the air Pit does not advance forward and you can't keep the weapon spinning.

Neutral Special (can be held): This is Pit's arrow shot. If you hold down the special attack button you can aim your arrow directly upwards too, and it can even be shot in an upright or downright position. The arrows are quick, and they are larger but also more visible than Link's arrows.

Down + Special (can be held): Pit puts up his shield for as long as the button is held down. The shield can block attacks and can even reflect back projectiles; furthermore, this move enables Pit to be the first and maybe even only, depending on the other characters' repertoire, character to air-block. We're unsure as to how this shield fares against final smash attacks.

Final Smash: This was already described in the official smash site, but Pit summons the goddess Pelutina, who then calls upon he army to attack Pit's enemies. Each of the flying soldiers dive at Pit's opponents, but it looks to be easily dodged overall. Other Pokemons and Assist Characters look to be more useful, but the trick is to keep attacking while the army is active. While Pit is summoning Pelutina he is invulnerable but he also can't move.

Impressions: I thought Pit was a solid character. I had the second most play time with Pit, but overall I can't say I say I've played with him enough to point out his good and bad points. I do like him overall, and he does have good speed and quick attacks. His ability to air block should add in a new layer of strategy for the Smash Bros. world for and his flight ability is literally heavenly. Hence, because of those and his attacks, Pit has a rather outstanding air game, from what I've experienced.
